UUCG Care Programs

UUCG Lay Pastoral Associates

The Lay Pastoral Care Program is a ministerial program to provide a confidential, caring presence to congregants undergoing stressful life challenges.  Eighteen trained and commissioned Associates are an extension of our Minister’s own pastoral care effort.   This is a ministry independent of the staff and committee structure of the church.  Strict confidentiality is stressed throughout the program.

Lay Pastoral Care Associates can be available to offer personal support to those enduring grieving, illness, marital changes, relocation, care giving, isolation or other difficult life situations.  Associates also visit and maintain contact with congregants.

Co- Chairs of Lay Pastoral Care Associates are: Janet Eley and Liz Harrell

UUCG Care Team

A second and very important program is the Care Team.  This team of volunteers will be helping with food delivery, transportation to appointments, and errands for the congregants who request help.  These volunteers give very tangible help when it is needed. Another aspect of this program is visiting and maintaining contact with congregants.  Additional volunteers are welcome.

Co-Chairs of the Care Team are Suzanne Andrews and Joy Hamlin.

Care Table, Care Box and Request Forms

The Care Table, located in the sanctuary, is where you will find more information about these programs, as well as request forms if you need help. Completed request forms should be placed in the locked Care Box, located in the church foyer.
